Hi, Jimby and all the gang! It's
been quite a while since I've written. I can't believe
summer is more or less over already. Ah, well; it
was a good one, and fall is a good time of year, so
I can't really complain.
We had a lovely time at our family
reunion at Cacapon State Park near Berkeley Springs,
West Virginia, in July. Miss Elizabeth and her family
get together, but so do we monkeys. We have humans
and monkeys from Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania;
Syracuse, New York; Virginia Beach, Virginia; and
Atlanta, Georgia. (A big shout-out to Georgia Peach!)
I'll attach some pictures of all us monkeys plus a
few other friends. Miss Elizabeth found a cool game
called Bananagrams that everyone, humans and monkeys
alike, loved. I'll also attach a picture of us playing
Bananagrams.
As well I thought you might enjoy
the photo of me rocking out on my bongo drums.
I am hoping to make my banana walnut
muffins soon, and I can't wait to try out that recipe
you shared! I'll send along my banana walnut muffin
recipe (and photos if possible) when I can.

We
had great fun playing the game Banangrams

We found ourselves in West Virginia
again for Labor Day weekend. We went with our humans
to the Stonewall Jackson Heritage Jubilee. It's held
at Jackson's Mill, Stonewall Jackson's boyhood home.
They have lots of good traditional music (I understand
a lot of it came from Britain!), good food, and all
kinds of interesting things to see, like Civil War
re-enactors. I almost jumped out of my fur when one
of them fired his gun! It was just for show, though,
so everything was okay.
Now baseball season is almost over
(poor Pittsburgh Pirates -- another losing season),
and football season is under way. We are all excited
to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers play the Philadelphia
Eagles today! My sister Mary is an especially rabid
football fan. Sometimes she gets a little carried
away with tackling us. The leaves are just beginning
to change into beautiful reds and oranges and yellows,
and I'm glad for my fur at nighttime, since there's
a slight chill in the air. My brothers and sisters
and I need to decide what to be for Halloween. Miss
Elizabeth is thinking about going as Jane Goodall
and including us, but I'm not sure if that's what
we'll end up doing. She and Mr. Bob are still trying
to get their wedding planned for spring. I'd be happy
to take over -- I love a good party -- but, alas,
they haven't given me the reins just yet.
I hope all you Jimbys and your humans
are doing well out there!
Take care,
Ross
